THE TRUST:

          Coimbatore is well known for its culture, scores of rich temples and art treasures. The transition from a traditionally beautiful, friendly place to a technology savvy city has become possible because of the pragmatic approach of many young entrepreneurs. This visualization was conceptualized in the form of S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust in this manchester of the south India.The trust was founded on 9 February 1970 in order to fulfill the dreams of a great philanthropist and a man of vision Sri.S.N.Rangaswamy Naidu, by his four sons:

Dr. R.Venkatesalu Naidu

           Sri S.N.Rangaswamy Naidu was an ardent devotee of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.His interest in man was as compelling as in God.He wanted to remove ignorance and disease especially from the poor by providing them with education and medical relief.
          The four sons of this great anist, who founded the Trust, set themselves the task of realizing their beloved father’s ambition. They had a humble beginning by establishing Sri Ramakrishna Kalyanamandapam, a community hall meant for religious discourses, seminars, conferences and other intellectual activities. Owing to their indefatigable industry and unflagging ardour, the trust now runs:

          1. Sri Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam – Community Hall, Sidhapudur.
          2. Sri Ramakrishna Hospital – a 350-bed hospital, Sidhapudur, CBE
          3. Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation School
          4. Sri Ramakrishna College of Nursing
          5. Sri Ramakrishna College of Pharmacy
          6. Sri Ramakrishna College of Physiotherapy
          7. Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women
          8. S.N.R. Sons College of Arts & Science
          9. Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation School, Vattamalaipalayam
          10. Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Vattamalaipalayam
          11. Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic, Vattamalaipalayam
          12. Sri Ramakrishna Rural Health Centre, Vattamalaipalayam

          By the ardent endeavour of the Trustees, who have whole-heartedly committed themselves to the great cause of service to the mankind, the institutions have grown in all splendour and grace.They provide the poor with remedies against even the gravest physical and mental illness.It is their humble desire to make available to the community at large, the benefit of the astonishing advances made in Medical Science.They summon up all their resources, ponder, plan and face the challenges of future education diligently and boldly.

Chief Executive of the S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust : Mr. C.V.Ramkumar. He participated in the decision making of the Trust and played a key role in the development of the above institutions.

Technical Education Wing of the Trust

      The following three institutions are under the technical wing.

           * Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Pachapalayam
           * Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic, Vattamalaipalayam

      The advisor of the S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust is Dr.A.Shanmuga sundaram.

Dr. A. Shanmuga sundaram


           Dr.A.Shanmuga sundaram obtained his Ph.D from Glasgow university, U.K and joined PSG College of Technology and became the Principal of the same. During his tenure at PSG College of Technology, he has guided several PhD students. Also he was member of various committees constituted by Directorate of Technical Education, Universitites of Tamil Nadu and also by the AICTE. He retired in the year 1994 and he is advising the S.N.R. Sons Charitable Trust in the development of Technical education. Currently he is advising Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College,Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology and Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic College. He is also the member governing council of the above 3 institutions.
