Students from Department of ECE has received Chief Minister's Awards for excellence in e-Governance for Students
Confederation of Indian Industry, Tamil Nadu as part of 17th Edition of CONNECT 2018 has organized a conference and exhibition on Information and Communication Technology on the theme “Accelerating Progress: Inclusive Digital Growth on 27-28,September 2018.As part of the conference , CII Hackathon 2018 event was proposed. Participating teams were called by CII from all over Tamil Nadu and 38 teams were selected by them in the first round out of 150 odd teams. Out of 38 teams four teams were from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. The coordinator for the event at SREC was Dr.S.Jayanthy, Professor/ECE, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore.
In the final selection rounds organized at Tech Mahindra, Sholinganallur, Chennai on 8th September, the selected 38 batches (including 4 batches from SREC) were grouped into three streams namely Artificial Intelligence, Mobility and Data Analytics. In the Artificial Intelligence category the team comprising of Aravinda Kumar R C, Bharath K and Gowtham P of Third Year ECE, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College were selected as the winners for their project titled “Tamil Handwritten Character Recognition using CNN through Combinational Approach”. They will receive Chief Minister's Awards for excellence in e-Governance for Students from the chief minister of Tamil Nadu during the Conference on Information and Communication Technology on 28th September at Taj Coromandel, Chennai.
