YOUNG ACHIEVER AWARDS 2022

The World Youth Federation is all set to conduct the 5th year of an inspirational State Level Event-National Youth and Students' Day (NYSD) - for students of Engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu to bring forth innovations from students and felicitate the winners at Anna University, Chennai, on October 15, 2022, in remembrance of the former President of India, late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. 'Young Achiever Awards 2022' to the tune of 101 will be conferred on the day, of which 10 will be for social activists and the rest for the students. A youth-led collective called 'Kites Foundation' created the "Kalam Awards" to honor the young volunteers, social networks, and programs are prioritizing social development.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Social Volunteer Award (for outstanding volunteer services), Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Community Excellence Award (for the best communities/NGOs), and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Social Impact Award (for social ventures/projects of impact) are the three categories in which awards will be given.
The goal of the award is to motivate and inspire recipients to become more socially conscious and active citizens.
Teams comprising a maximum of 4 members from various parts of the States participated in the auditions. Teams from the Departments of EEE, BME, ECE, and EIE at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College contested the event. The contingent had 14 members from the above departments and was mentored by the faculties from the respective departments. The teams presented their project ideas with working models emphasizing the future scope and development plans. The project selection happened took into account factors such as innovativeness, sustainable economic growth models, employment scope for young graduates, and problem-solving capacities for individuals and society.
The jury panel inspected the projects and interacted with the students. They provided invaluable input to the students in the process.
