Students around the globe are unaware of the fore-coming Huge Career opportunities which require multidisciplinary excellence. Persistent efforts are being taken by Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College at various levels to spread this awareness. One such effort is the Open School event at SREC, “What next after plus 2,” organized through the 2021 IBM Volunteer Excellence Award on 3rd December 2022. Mr. R. Ashwin, a Career Guidance Expert, Analyst, and a proud alumnus of NIT Warangal, was the Chief Guest. Dr.N.R.Alamelu, the Principal, presided over the function in the presence of Shri. C.V. Ramkumar, CEO of SNR Sons Charitable Trust.
The Chief Guest, Mr. R. Ashwin, gave a comprehensive and crystal clear speech emphasizing the need for Education. He provided the key perspectives for a plethora of career opportunities and the road map to achieve them. He reminisced his early days as an example, insisting that the external environment should not be considered an obstacle to learning because Education alone can fetch name, fame, and great laurels in Life. He motivated the students to learn well to get into top-class institutions because a good future depends on being educated in premier institutions. In this regard, he elaborated on the road map and clear-cut ways and benefits of getting educated in these Premier Institutions. Finally, he concluded by urging the students to strive hard to learn well in the present with utmost dedication.
This event was not only a lecture; rather, students were encouraged to participate in real-time activities which were intended to provide dynamic exposure to students, which included hands-on experience sessions on Sensors, 3D printers, Aero Modelling, and innovative projects. They were also provided with the opportunity to visit the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Smart factory/Industry 4.0, Autonomous Mobile Laboratory, Open Innovation Laboratory, and so on. It also stressed vocabulary skills and physical fitness through the English Literary Society, Tamil Mandram, and the Department of Physical Education.
The event also witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic response from the students of various strata, and this event ensures equitable and quality knowledge and awareness to all.
